It replaced an Elizabethan Mansion House - Egerton House. My painting shows the Rex on it's opening day in 1938. My grandparents lived in Berkhamsted then, and often went to the Rex. Alabour of love as the Wizard of Oz is my all-time favourite film, and I grew up going to the Rex in the 1970's.
