Great Gaddesden

Great Gaddesden is nestled in the Gade Valley in the Chiltern Hills, located just outside Hemel Hempstead, Herts. A building has stood on the site of St John the Baptist church since Medieval times. Roman bricks have been found inthe church's walls. Today the Church serves the communities of Great Gaddesden, Gaddesden Row, Jockey End, Bridens Camp, St Margarets, Water End and the surrounding area. The River Gade flows past the village, though it is not visible today due to the growth of bushes, trees etc, it once was a clear view from the river to the church as shown.
