Matilda Traction Engine Original Painting
'Matilda' Traction Engine
Built in 1925 by Foster NT 7184 5 nhp general purpose traction engine spent its working life with messers Shaw of Fawley, Shrops.
I based this painting on a 1954 Black & White photo taken by my dad RM Casserley. I added in the background, colour, and figures. I have included my family as we were in the 1970's even though we wern't even born then!
(my mum, dad, myself brothers and my sister as a babe in arms) on the RHS. Over on the LHS I have added in my grandad HC Casserley and its his Morris 12 car on the rear RHS.
We spent much of our childhood attending various steam traction engine rallys around the home counties ( as well as steam train heritage centres) We still attend our two local ones at Marsworth and Potten End
I now offer the original artwork for sale direct from my studio in Tring, Herts. The originals are hand-painted painted using water-based Winsor & Newton professional gouache paint on Arboreta E.S. white drawing cartridge paper 160g/m2
