Northchurch The George & Dragon

Showing The George & Dragon pub in Northchurch, Berkhamsted, Herts.  This old coaching Inn was first recorded as the Swan in 1772. By 1851 it was known as The George when it was atatched to a blacksmiths. The villahe stocks stood opposite. The statute Fair which was organised  for hiring farming and domestic staff was held annually in its yard
