On 1st May 1928 the Flying Scotsman LNER 4472 hauled the inaugral train on the prestigious non-stop "Flying Scotsman" train service from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh.
I have included the trains designer, Nigel Gresley alongside my grandad, H C Casserley and my father RM Casserley in this painting (even though my dad was not yet born)
